Location: Kinmundy Reservoir is located in Marion County approximately 1 mile west of Kinmundy, IL.

Description: Kinmundy Reservoir was constructed in 1998 to serve as a recreational and potable water supply for the City of Kinmundy, IL. The lake has a surface area of 107 acres, a maximum depth of 26 feet, and a mean depth of 12 feet. The lake has 3.2 miles of shoreline and watershed of 750 acres.

History and Status of the Sport Fishery: The sportfish population in Kinmundy Reservoir is comprised primarily of largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, black crappie, and redear sunfish. Common carp are also present in the lake. The fish population is surveyed annually.

Additional Lake Information: City of Kinmundy boat permits are required. They can be purchased at Kinmundy City Hall. The entire lake is under "No Wake" regulations.

Tournament Restrictions: Please contact the City of Kinmundy at 618-547-3221 to receive a City of Kinmundy permit before applying for a DNR permit. Tournaments are only allowed on the New Reservoir (the Bigger Lake). No tournament permits will be issued for Memorial Day Weekend, the 4th of July Holiday, and Labor Day Weekend.

Site Regulations:
All Fish: 2 pole and line fishing; carp may be bowfished
Largemouth bass: 6 per day, no length limit
Channel Catfish: 6 per day, no length limit
