Fish Status |
Fair | The vast majority of bluegill collected were around 4” long with only 4 fish approaching 6” long (considered the minimum harvestable size by anglers).
Fair | Old School has been periodically stocked with non-vulnerable (8" to 10") channel catfish from the State Hatchery system, so some fish should be present and available for anglers even though they are easy to target and catch.
Poor | The size structure of the fish we sampled skewed toward smaller sized fish with eighteen percent of the catch exceeding 14”, but no fish exceeded 15” long, which is the legal length for this lake.
Location: Old School Pond is located 1.5 miles SE of Libertyville; SE of route 176 on St. Mary's Road.
